Location of Heritance Kandalama
Heritance Kandalama is on 211 acres of protected forest with views over Kandalama Lake. The luxury 5-star resort, which has 137 rooms and 15 suites, was completed in 1994.
Heritance Kandalama is located:
150 km from Bandaranaike International Airport Colombo
9 km from Dambulla Royal Cave Temple
13 km from Minneriya National Park
23 km from Sigiriya Fortress
The hotel is located in a protected forest and public transport is limited. You will need to get a taxi from the local town.

It’s good to know: There are plenty of choices for accommodation, and you will need to book in advance, as they also take groups.
All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, balconies, tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, a mini bar upon request, a rain shower, and toiletries.
We had a superior king room. The bed was very comfortable, with luxury linen and firm pillows. On our balcony, we welcomed a family of monkeys looking for food in the morning and night. Do not leave your balcony door open. They are quick and will take anything within reach, e.g., passports, cash, etc.
It is quite a walk to some of the rooms, and the first time, you can get entirely lost.
The breakfast buffet was extensive, serving Western dishes and delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. When we returned to the hotel each night, we enjoyed some drinks at the Kanchana bar before heading to the buffet.
